by a mainstream culture of individualism and mistrust. They also face legal
and institutional barriers to their full participation.
- Communities can achieve social justice by realizing their power. They
can organize into effective movements and devise potent legislative, media
and legal strategies to broker holistic improvements for their families
and neighbors.
- We work locally because it is a sphere where those
with less political power and resources can more effectively be heard.
And, given recent trends in policymaking to devolve more authority to
local governments, the local sphere is increasingly the arena where key
social policy is made.
How We Make a Difference
