Center mutually supportive & interdependent relationships.

What it means

We see fiscal sponsorship as much more than a transactional service. Framing fiscal sponsorship as conventional professional services is a missed opportunity for higher partnership and frequently leads to mismanaged expectations, friction, and frustration between sponsor and sponsored project. We see movement building fiscal sponsorship as an opportunity to assist mission aligned organizations to increase their impact; cultivate partnerships with transparency, authenticity, and care; and model mutually supportive and interdependent relationships. This approach takes time, commitment, energy, responsiveness, and shared vision from all people involved.

In practice

We regularly meet with project leaders to check in around project needs, fiscal sponsorship needs, examine mutually agreed upon processes and expectations, share capacity building opportunities and resources, and to provide encouragement and support.
