Those directly affected by injustice are in the best position to articulate the problem, design and implement appropriate solutions, and define success. Fiscal sponsorship can be a transformative catalyst for constituent movement leaders that creates access to funding and operational support that would otherwise be difficult to sustain.
In practice
We recognize that organizers of color working at the grassroots are often less likely to have the required minimum committed funds to enter into a fiscal sponsorship partnership. Praxis does not require a specific minimum amount of committed funding.
