Community and solidarity networks create the infrastructure we need to build power and transform systems.
Recognizing that our individual well-being is deeply intertwined with that of our neighbors’ anchors solutions in mutual action and solidarity.
Solidarity networks begin with understanding the contexts in which inequity has manifested and grown through sharing stories and experiences.
Developing shared solidarities is critical to establishing the trust that can lead to collective visions, values, and norms upon which transformation may be anchored.
Solidarity with others challenging similar inequities in other places will help to expand the understanding of which strategies are possible and which ones are effective under which contexts.
Building community power requires equitable power relationships and trust within the community. This means transforming how we communicate, make decisions, and explicitly address power.
In community and solidarity there is an enduring commitment and practice of continuously centering the most impacted communities experiencing the highest rates of inequity. We will not be truly transformative until we can do this.
