The Public Conversation for Change Leadership Fellowship at the College of Staten Island: Praxis is providing bi-weekly facilitation and technical assistance to a cohort of visionary fellows, partners, and collaborators to build a thriving environment of equity and belonging on Staten Island.
Blue Zones Trainings: From January through April of 2021, Praxis is facilitating a series of monthly trainings on health, justice and racial equity for Blue Zones community leaders across the nation. The trainings are being guided by Praxis' Working Principles for Health, Justice and Racial Equity and accompanying organizational self-assessment.
San Francisco Health Plan Trainings: Praxis is excited to facilitate a series of anti-racism trainings for San Francisco Health Plan staff in partnership with Expecting Justice throughout January and February 2021.
Kansas Community Health Promotion Summit: On January 26th, Praxis is presenting at Kansas Community Health Promotion Summit with Kansas chronic disease prevention leaders and advocates. This year’s event, “Health Justice: Be The Change” will center on the need to understand and put health justice into action. Praxis is highlighting our Working Principles for Health, Justice and Racial Equity and community-led efforts in our network.
Community Health Rankings Webinar: On January 26th, Praxis will also be presenting on language justice at the Community Health Rankings webinar.
Racism as a Root Cause Approach: A New Framework: Praxis' Program Director Jenna Gaarde collaborated with racial justice leaders Dr. Zea Malawa and Solaire Spellen on a framework to address racism as a root cause of health disparities, recently released in American Academy of Pediatrics.
