Uma Nagarajan-Swenson was born and raised in the East Bay. She is a senior at Scripps College studying politics and history. Uma is especially passionate about health justice within carceral spaces such as ICE detention centers and prisons, which has been a central theme of her organizing for prison abolition. She draws great inspiration and knowledge from her community, which was informed by her mutual aid organizing with Nobody Fails at Scripps during the past year. She loves cooking for friends and family, hanging with her cat, hiking, and making jewelry.
