Freedom Side Projects—based in California, Freedom Side Projects aims to strengthen feminist decarceral efforts in California and the U.S. through organizing, scholarship, and legal advocacy. They work to build an incubator for feminist decarceral projects such as participatory defense and legal advocacy for survivors of domestic/sexual/reproductive violence, participatory research on the relationship between gender violence and carceral violence, and mutual aid efforts to strengthen networks among formerly incarcerated people.
