12/20/2021: Happy Holidays from The Praxis Project

Dear Praxis Family,

We have reach the end of a year like no other. As we close out 2021, let us reflect on the things we have collectively accomplished together. Let us honor the legacy of those who have passed on, remember the lives lost to unnecessary violence, and give space for grief. Let us also celebrate the cycle of life and those we welcomed into this world this past year.

In 2021, you brought our communities together in incredible acts of solidarity and unity, and more than ever, a collective centering of healing justice. Your on-going organizing efforts keep our communities connected as the pandemic rages on, provide critical community support, and gives us radical hope for the future. The one thing we are certain about is that the work of community power building is the sustainable, dignified approach to health, equity, and racial justice. As we begin to see the necessary narrative shift in health equity and racial justice, with many municipalities and jurisdictions declaring racism as a public health crisis and a broader understanding of the systems underlying inequities emerging, The Praxis Project will continue to advocate for community-led and community-centered solutions. We will honor and amplify the decades-long work of base-building, grassroots organizers towards better health and justice.

As the year closes, we hope you a safe, well, and joyful holiday season and a happy new year. Thank you for the love and care you have brought to our work this year whether it was in the arts and self-care healing sessionsRelax with Praxislearning circles, or Roots & Remedies convening. We look forward to leading with love and continuing our journey towards liberation with you in 2022. If you haven't already, check out the beautiful graphic notes from Roots & Remedies of the beautiful community we have made with each other.

Gratefully,

The Praxis Project Team

#BeyondtheMoment - Double Your Impact

End-of-Year Campaign

The Praxis Project is partnering with 9 phenomenal community power building organizations to help center and sustain their movements. We recognize that our communities need resources and infrastructure not only to respond to crises in the moment, but that is necessary to challenge practices that reinforce systems of oppression and exploitation and to generate meaningful change towards liberation.

We are matching your donations up to $10,000 through December 31st. Help our partners meet their matching donation goal and join us in supporting their critical organizing efforts.

"Your generous donation will help our fight to close youth prisons, disrupt the school-to-prison-pipeline, and support families in building collective power to hold public systems accountable." - Families and Friends of Louisiana’s Incarcerated Children (FFLIC)

"Your contribution to SWOP unites our communities to fight injustice. Every donation, hour volunteered, and event attended, gives our movement strength." - SouthWest Organizing Project

"With appropriate funding, we will build the Employment Disruption Program to expand our reach in the community to provide these critical services and strengthen the economic power in the communities we serve now and beyond COVID-19." - Pan-African Community Development Initiative

"We now protect our communities and our rights by going to the polls to vote. 2022 is a midterm election and voter turnout is low. Your donations will help us hire Tribal members to conduct voter registration." - Four Directions
